Sarus Crane

(Grus antigone) A large non-migratory crane found in parts of the Indian Sub-continent SE Asia and Australia. The tallest of the flying birds, standing at a height of up to 1.8 m.  Often mistaken for Brolgas in Australia, they may be distinguished by the greater amount of red colouration to the head and neck.
