Cattle Muster

A muster is the process of gathering livestock, usually cattle, sheep or horses. Musters are conducted for a variety of reasons, including; counting, branding, culling and re-locating. Mustering is a long, difficult and sometimes dangerous job, especially on the large stations of the vast Australian top end where a muster may last a number of months. The photographs in this album were taken on a 1.1 million acre cattle station located in the Carpentarian Gulf region of Northern Queensland.
