Chlamydera nuchalis  A common and conspicuous resident of northern Australia,  the great bowerbird's favoured habitat is a broad range of forest and woodland, and the margins of vine forests, monsoon forests, and mangrove swamps.  The largest of the bowerbird family it builds a large bower, the ends of which are scattered with white,red and green objects - stones, bones, shells and berries and even small man-made objects.
